Teamwork for Times Square

April, 2010

Kaitsen Woo Architect Spring 2010 Intern, Ian Dull, co-ordinated with KWA staff to submit a proposal for the reNEWable Times Square Competition.

Imagine Times Square as the Playground of the World, paved in the universal graphic vocabulary of iconic board games, labyrinths, pick-up street pastimes and pop culture. Here children of all ages enjoy hop-scotch, become life-size chess pieces, stomp out imagined tunes on a giant keyboard, lose themselves in mazes. Each game invites mixing, gathering, imagination, rethinking. Parents sip coffee, watching their children play. Tourists and New Yorkers explore, discover, join in. Think of the photo opportunities! Why shouldn't the Crossroads of the World provide the most fun on earth? Click hereto view slideshow of application.
